Charleston County EMS is accepting applications for Paramedic Crew Chief.
With the upcoming EMS system expansion, Charleston County EMS is offering an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced 911 system. State-of-the-art equipment, advanced protocols, employee participation (in research and system development) – as well as being a coastal community – make this an attractive place to work and live. CCEMS operates on a 12 hour shift (every other weekend is a three day weekend) schedule.
Starting Salary Range: HOURLY $18.88
To qualify for Paramedic Crew Chief, you must have a high school diploma or equivalent plus at least 1 year experience as a paramedic. Certification as a National Registry Paramedic and eligible for SC reciprocity; as well as certification in: BLS and ACLS, ITLS or PHTLS, PEPP or PALS. ICS course certification in 100, 200, 700, & 800 are also required. Additionally, all applicants must have a current State issued Driver’s License - and South Carolina Driver’s License within 30 days of hire. Current Charleston County employees must not be on performance or disciplinary probation.
The Paramedic Crew Chief is responsible for the overall operations of their assigned crew, unit and station during their work period. The Paramedic Crew Chief is expected to exhibit teamwork, customer service skills, communication skills, integrity and initiative. It is imperative that the candidate have the ability to foster a supportive working environment; as well as, prioritize effectively and exhibit excellent written and oral communication skills. Candidates must provide documentation verifying their eligibility credentials; a 10 year driving history, criminal background check (instate candidates are encouraged to provide copy of the SLED online criminal background check), and 3 letters of reference from your current or former supervisors – along with the completed application (either mailing in; email to: email@example.com; or FAX to (843) 958-4720).
